”The special moments and places of my life are the focus for my images. I love the beauty of the natural world, whether it be beneath the ocean while diving or above the waves in the landscapes of my home.”
It's the 1st of June which means a pile of shiny new books is waiting for you just around the corner! Check out what is new for June in your library here: Lincolnshire Libraries New Books
Caistor is a rare survivor from a bygone era and looks like a living time capsule because most of the buildings date from the hundred years following the Great Fire of Caistor which destroyed virtually all the town centre in 1681. Look across the Market Place at elegant late Georgian and early Victorian buildings featuring small window panes and locally made orange clay pantiles and later the more expensive Welsh blue roofing slates. Today we appreciate the beauty and traditional details of the Market Place as well as the wealth of other interesting buildings in the old town.
Local artists Karen Hyde and Ailsa Wish have taught the local children and helped them spot good view points to sketch from. These outline designs should help you gain experience in spotting pleasing building shapes and layouts for satisfying and creative colouring in sessions.
Colouring Books available from the Café in Caistor Arts & Heritage Centre.
Are you a member of a local group, society or association within the Caistor District?
We are creating a Directory of Community Services within Caistor as a reference booklet within the library.
If you know an organisation that should be on the list then please call into our library and a librarian will happily give you a form to complete and return to the Centre.
From Wednesday 26th May 2022…
The Irby Art Group display work in the Gallery Room and the Café Gallery.
“We are a small, enthusiastic group working together untutored through the winter months, sharing our varied areas of expertise. We enjoy a wide spectrum of subjects, media and styles.”
Caistor Library is not just books and computers, it’s also the home of the Puzzle Library-Caistor.
Our new collection of puzzles will suit you, whether you’re eight or eighty. Just drop in, find a puzzle you’d like to borrow to take home, or add a few pieces to the Puzzle of the month, which is on the puzzle table in the library.
A catalogue of puzzles is available to browse. When you have decided on the puzzle you wish to take home, simply pay the deposit of £1 and the librarian will get it for you. And, of course, you’ll get your £1 back when you return your puzzle. What a great idea!
